Having full root-level access means that you can access and modify each file on a selected server, which includes all system files, and to change system settings or install server-side software that may be needed by certain scripts and even offline applications in order to work appropriately. A server is accessed at the root level via a root user, which has full privileges to do all of the aforementioned tasks. The root user can also generate various other users. For safety reasons, you're advised to have a different account for everyday tasks and to use the root account only if you actually need to do a task on your website hosting server. The root-level access attribute offers you full control of your server from any kind of location, provided that you have the user credentials.

Full Root-level Access in VPS

Our Linux VPS packages come with different levels of access, so as to give you the option to choose the one you need, according to your level of experience and on what you want the server for. If you buy a VPS with no Control Panel, you will have full root-level access and you will manage everything through a console, unless you install a third-party software tool. The servers that are ordered with the DirectAdmin or the cPanel website hosting Control Panel also feature full root access, but most of the things which are linked to your web content can be done via a graphical interface and not a console. You will be able to set up various different frameworks or media streaming software, for example, without any problems. If you order the virtual server with the Hepsia Control Panel, you can still use a Secure Shell console to connect, however, the root access will be limited. Yet, the Hepsia-equipped servers are the simplest to control.

Full Root-level Access in Dedicated Hosting

You'll have full root-level access to your dedicated server whatever the plan you choose throughout the registration process, as long as the server is ordered with cPanel or DirectAdmin, or with no web hosting Control Panel at all. In each of these three cases, you're able to change any part of the software environment in any way you find fit, which makes our server plans ideal for multi-media apps with specific requirements which can't be covered when you use a shared web hosting account. The difference between these options is the fact that when you pick cPanel or DirectAdmin, you will have a web-based graphical interface to control a variety of server-side options as well as any website content which you create or upload, while when you order the server without a Control Panel, you'll have to do everything using a Secure Shell console or to install a Control Panel of your own liking, if it's compatible with the Operating System that you've chosen during the registration process. With the last Control Panel option that you are able to select on our order page - Hepsia, the root access will be limited.
